(CBS Connecticut) — Police say an underage girl was taken from her bedroom in New Britain, touched inappropriately, and returned to her room.
The incident was reported August 16.
Police Captain Thomas Steck said the sexual assault took place between midnight and 4 am in the Broad Street neighborhood.
“There are no other incidents similar to this having been reported in that neighborhood, or anywhere else in the city,” Steck said. “Our department has allocated substantial resources to attempt to identify and arrest the suspect.”
The man had a thin, dark colored beard, spoke with an accent, and wore a dark colored hat with a blue lightning bolt.
Police are hoping someone will come forward with information about the unidentified attacker.
Police would not release the girl’s age. They would not say if she was physically injured in the attack.
